چکیده

Background Chronic volume overload caused by insufficient cardiac valves is a well known pathomechanism to the development and progress of cardiac dilation. Recent studies suggest that PDE-5-inhibitors may have positive inotrope and cardioprotective effects. Nevertheless the long-term outcome of PDE-5 treatment in heart failure remains unknown. In this study we investigated the effects of chronic vardenafil treatment on myocardial dysfunction in rats developing heart failure on account of a surgically induced AV-shunt.

INHIBITION OF WNT3A DIMINISHED ANGIOGENIC DIFFERENTIATION CAPACITY OF RAT CARDIAC PROGENITOR CELLS

Background & Aims: Myocardial infarction is a leading cause of human mortality in industrialized and developing societies. Limited restorative ability of of cardiomyocytes after ischemic changes can causes extensive damage lead to prominent chronic heart failure. At present, the application of certain drugs is touted as one of the main available approaches to inhibit the spread of the lesion an...

The cardioprotective effects of 4-O-(2″-O-acetyl-6″-O- p-coumaroyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)-p-coumaric acid (4-ACGC) on chronic heart failure

The 4-ACGC isolated from BP was prepared to investigate the cardioprotective effects on attenuating chronic heart failure in vivo and in vitro. A chronic heart failure (CHF) rat model was established to investigate the cardioprotective effects of 4-ACGC. From this, several cardiac function indexes were recorded. The inflammatory markers including tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), Interleukin-6 (...

Right ventricular Hemodynamic Alteration after Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Children with Congenital Heart Disease

Introduction:  In patients who underwent surgery to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, right ventricular dilation from pulmonary regurgitation may be result in right ventricular failure, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Hence, pulmonary valve replacement may be necessary to reduce right ventricular volume overload. The aim of present study was to assess the effects of pulmonary valve replacement on rig...

Regulator of G protein signaling 2 mediates cardiac compensation to pressure overload and antihypertrophic effects of PDE5 inhibition in mice.

The heart initially compensates for hypertension-mediated pressure overload by enhancing its contractile force and developing hypertrophy without dilation. Gq protein-coupled receptor pathways become activated and can depress function, leading to cardiac failure. Initial adaptation mechanisms to reduce cardiac damage during such stimulation remain largely unknown. Here we have shown that this i...
